HELLO
My name is Tanya, and I am a Melbourne based Calligrapher. Whatever stage of life that I am in, I have always found a way to be creative and while this has looked very different over the years, Calligraphy has been one that I have come back to time and time again. Now I am able to share my love of scribing with you all, through my artworks, on social media and the occasional workshop too!
All About Me
What started out as a hobby to pass the time during Covid lockdowns, quickly became a passion and a joy for scribing letters into pieces of art. While pointed dip pen with ink is my main method of lettering, I dabble from time to time with a brush pen or more recently, engraving mediums such as wood or burning leather and fabric. There are so many avenues with calligraphy; the possibilities are endless. However, taking inspiration from nature and intertwining elements such as pressed botanicals or handmade paper into my artworks is what I love to do most.

It fills me with great joy when I am creating custom pieces for my clients by lettering one's words in a beautiful way to bring further meaning and enabling the receiver to be encouraged, inspired, comforted, celebrated or loved. There's an ancient proverb that says, "A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver." What a privilege it is to elevate one's special words into beautiful works of art.
